November & December 2014, Janurary & February 2015 Ipsy Reviews.

WOW! I can’t believe I’ve spaced off and neglected to post FOUR months worth of my Ipsy bags! Whoops…
Anyways…as you probably know by now Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month you get 4-6 beauty products inside a makeup bag. If you’d like to subscribe to Ipsy, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. Plus it arrives each month in a pink bubble mailer!

November 2014 – Girl Meets Glitter
20141122_110702Elizabeth Mott you’re so FINE Eyeliner – J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint – Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base – TEMPTU S/B Highlighter – Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray. I absolutely LOVE the bag this month. Overall rating for this bag 3/5. I didn’t like the Wonder Lip Paint and how I wish the eyeliner was in black (that’s all I wear).

December 2014 – Thinking of You
20141219_113349CAILYN Cosmetics Just Mineral Eye Polish – Sexy Hair 450° Blow Out Heat Defense Blow Dry Spray Mini – tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara – Beauty Without Cruelty A.H.A. 3% Facial Cleanser – NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm. Not the biggest fan of the bag this month. Overall rating of this month’s bag 3/5. Sick of seeing facial cleanser! Lots of repeat brands this month.

January 2015 – Fresh Start

20150124_114204I’m not really sure why this picture is in black & white. When I sent it from my phone to my computer is magically did that on it’s own!

Hikari Cosmetics Eye Liner – Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow – La Fresh Eco-Beauty Be Good. Good Day. Day Moisturizer – Velvet 59 Lipgloss – Elizabeth Mott  All Over Shadow Brush. Not a big fan of this bag either, it’s hard to tell but it’s white on one side, blue on the other, with a red zipper. Overall rating for this month 3.5/5. MORE silver eye shadow :(. Didn’t really like that lip gloss either.

February 2015 – #IPSYLOVE

20150214_104600Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray – Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil – Emite Make Up Professional Eye Lash Curler – City Color Cosmetics Creamy Lip Stain – ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder. The bag this month was kinda cute. Overall rating for this month’s bag is 3/5. I won’t use the face oil, not a big fan of the volumizing spray or lip stain. But I’m very happy I received the eye lash curler!

September & October 2014 Ipsy Reviews.

Playing catch-up again with the reviews. Whoops. 🙂
Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month you get 4-6 beauty products inside a makeup bag. If you’d like to subscribe to Ipsy, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. It arrives each month in a pink bubble mailer!

September’s Bag & Review, Street Style

September 2014 IpsyYikes sorry for the terrible phone picture

Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush. I don’t mind receiving brushes in these bags. I don’t know about it being double sided though, like it might make a mess.

Pacifica Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil. Not a big fan of pencil eyeliner but it’s fine. It was also brown which is a bummer, I’m a black eyeliner kind of girl.

Briogeo Don’t Despiar, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask. Gotta grow my hair as long as possible and keep it healthy for the wedding. And this mask smells really good.

Cailyn Art Touch Tinted Lip Gloss. Not going to lie, getting sick of this brand. It’s in like every bag! I’m sure this gloss is fine, but I don’t like the color so I won’t be using it.

Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser. Not my kind of thing. I don’t know what I need to do to keep them from sending me weird face cleaners.

I actually like the bag this month, they’ve stepped it up! Yay for that. Overall I give this month’s bag a 2.5/5.

October’s Review, Beauty Candy

October 2014 Ipsy

City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Cappuccino. Don’t like the color, too brown even for fall. Would have like to try it since it’s  ‘matte’ though.

Figs & Rouge Hand Cream in Mango Mandarin. Cute packaging and smells good. I’m always happy to get a lotion that has a screw on cap, so I feel safe throwing it in my purse.

KISS iENVYbyKISS Lashes. I’ve never worn fake eyelashes, this is the second pair I’ve gotten from an Ipsy bag. I should give it a try sometime I guess, but my eyelashes are pretty long as they are.

ModelCo VOLUMEYES Extreme Black Mascara. Nice brush, seems to be a decent formula. Haven’t used yet because I have a couple open right now.

Skyn Iceland Mini Glacial Cleansing Cloths. I guess I don’t really mind getting face cleaning clothes because I use them a lot. These seem really nice.

I like the bag this month too, it’s fun and does give off that candy vibe. Overall I give this bag a 3.75/5.

Can’t wait until November’s bag!

July & August Ipsy Reviews.

Sorry, still playing catch-up on my Ipsy posts :(.

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month you get 4-6 beauty products inside a makeup bag. If you’d like to subscribe to Ipsy, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. It arrives each month in a pink bubble mailer!

July’s theme was ‘Sensationally Sunkissed’. So this is what I go in July:

20140802_154620

Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 8. Do people still use tanning oil, seems so 1987 to me 🙂
Pur Minerals Big Look Waterproof Mascara in Black. Love this, and it was in black. Score!
Lavalin Jojoba Gel Cream. Not even sure what this is, I’ll have to do some research. Anyone heard of this product?
Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm. OK, kind of too bright of a pink for my liking.
bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow. Nice neutral color, interesting product.

The bag itself kind of reminds me of a giant pink ravioli. Not the biggest fan, not sure how I feel about it.

I give this month’s bag and products a 2.5/5. Not the best.

Let’s move on to August’s bag. August’s theme was ‘Beauty Schooled’, since it was back to school time. The products I received were:

20140831_133927Coastal Scents Forever Blush Sample. Nice little sample set. I really need to get one of those Glam Rx palettes.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More. This is like the 3rd time I’ve gotten this from a beauty subscription. It’s a pretty good product overall though.
Absolute You’re The Balm in Green Apple. The balm itself is a transparent red balm. It really does smell just like apples!
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara in black. Love, love, love this.
Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Pencil in black. Black eyeliner score. Goes on nicely.

The bag this month is a orange polka-dot pencil case, it’s so-so. Overall I give this bag a 4/5. It was a pretty good one!

I also finally redeem some IpsyPoints! They were offering  a mystery glam bag for 1000 points. I decided to go for it because I haven’t really liked any of the single items that were available. This is the bag and products I received:

20140831_134030Starlooks Eyeliner in a blueish/teal color. Just not a color I’ll wear.
Pop Beauty Eye Shadow Trio in neutral colors. Great palette for neutral eyes.
Klorane Smoothing & Relaxing Eye Patches. Haven’t tried these yet, but I’m excited too.
Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Body Butter. Love this smell, also moisturizes nicely.
Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Brush. I already have this brush, but you can’t have too many brushes right!?

The bag is a leopard print accented with neon green, I like it.  Overall this was a pretty good bag & products. I’d rate it 3.75/5. I think it was worth the 1000 points.

June 2014 Ipsy & Birchbox Review.

I am SO far behind for posting these reviews! Sorry guys. So I will just give a quick recap for each month to get caught up!

I’ll start with Ipsy…
20140630_154223Laneige BB Cushion. Came with 3 different colors; a light, medium, and dark, plus an applicator. I would have preferred they used our beauty profile and sent out a larger sample of the skin color we chose. I’ll never be able to use the dark, maybe not even the medium.
Nicka K New York Shimmer Eyeliner in Blue. It’s a nice eyeliner and I like the way it applied, but it’s blue. I don’t wear blue eyeliner so that was a bummer.
NYX butter gloss in Creme Brulee. Cute pinky color. I liked this. Not a sticky formula.
Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray. Coconut smell, I liked it, smells like the beach. Works pretty decently.
Be a Bombshell Lash Out Mascara in Black. Definite plus that it was black. But it has such a strong odor that I put it in the giveaway pile.

Overall the bag was OK, I’d give it a 2.5-3/5. I wasn’t a fan of the bag design either. Navy blue with pineapples on it, not for me.

On to Birchbox…
20140630_153912Perlier Shea Butter Body Cream. Smells awesome, I love it! Feels nice on your hands, seems to moisturize pretty great too.
Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Sampler. I was pretty excited to get this in my box. 4 sample sized shadows from the big palette. I really need to get one of those GlamRX magnetic palettes, I was hoping Ipsy would use them as a points reward again…hint hint.
Coola Mineral Sunscreen. So sick of this brand and getting sunscreen in my beauty boxes! end rant.
Suki Exfoliating Foaming Cleanser. This stuff has the neatest texture/feel, haha. Seems to work good.
Folle fe Joie perfume sample. Smells OK, wouldn’t purchase a full-sized though.

This box was surprisingly pretty good. I’d give the box 3/5. Just to update you all this was my 12 box, so my year subscription was up, I did not renew. I just didn’t think the quality was there or that they were the best fit for me.

What beauty box subscription do you recommend? I still have a few months left of Ipsy, which I think I’ll probably continue. I will miss Birchbox’s point system though!

May 2014 Ipsy & Birchbox Reviews.

I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever. I’m still alive if you were wondering. My schedule at work just sucks and I’ve been so busy lately, but I’ll try to make more time to blog! Today I’m going to review the Ipsy & Birchbox beauty subscriptions, I know I really suck at posting these during the month I receive them! At least it’s only the 2nd :).

Let’s start with Ipsy. Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month you get 4-6 beauty products inside a makeup bag. If you’d like to subscribe to Ipsy, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. It arrives each month in a pink bubble mailer!

This month’s theme was ‘Fresh Picks’, just in time for Spring. So this is what I go this month:

20140602_165256

Avene Thermal Spring Water. Basically it’s a spray on hydrator/toner. I was really excited to see this in my bag! I’ve always wanted to buy the Evian version (only one I knew about) but I didn’t want to spend $15 for spray on water ;).

Calvin Klein Endless Euphoria. I’m not the biggest fan of receiving perfumes in these boxes because I have my go to scents. But I was happy to see that this wasn’t just one of those little vials and it smells decent so that’s obviously a plus.

Eva BYC Therapy Session Hair Mask. As I’ve mentioned before in other posts I’m getting married next year. I want to grow my hair and long as possible for that. So I was happy to see a mask rather than a shampoo/conditioner. Haven’t used it yet, so I hope it works. It smells fantastic!

Jersey Shore Tan Sans Tan Anti-Aging Sunscreen. Not excited about sunblock, but not upset about getting it because everyone got some version of sunblock. It’s also one of those products everyone needs. I’m not going to buy a $30 bottle but I don’t mind sampling it. I told myself I’m going to be better about wearing sunblock this year – so here we go!

Pacifica Mineral Eye Shadow Duo. A brownish and a creamish color. A nice shimmer to both colors. Probably not a shadow I’d pick out at a store but it’s not terrible.

I was pretty happy with the items I got this month. Although I already have it, I would have liked to receive the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer – mainly just because of the price. But was happy to sample products new to me. The bag this month was canvas with a green leaf print. I love that it was canvas but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the design, but again it wasn’t terrible.

Now on to Birchbox.

Birchbox is a beauty subscription box for $10/month. If you’d like to sign up please CLICK HERE to use my referral code and get signed up! This month’s theme was ‘Freewheeling’. Not going to lie, I don’t even know what that means.

This is the content card that is included in each box.

20140602_165106

And this is what I got:

20140602_165007

Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Lotion. Smells OK, seems to work fine. Happy with it.

Smarty Paint All-in-One Gummy Vitamins for Adults. Not a beauty product so not impressed. I actually take gummy vitamins, I use Vitafusion Women’s Complete Multivitamin. They taste better and you only have to take 2 gummies daily, unlike these where you have to take SIX.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in Silver. I was happy to see this! I wish it was in black though. I don’t really ever wear non-black eyeliner.

No. 4 Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner. Smells pretty good, but I haven’t used it. Still not really a fan of getting shampoo & conditioner but oh well. They acted like they were doing me a huge favor including the foil packet of conditioner. Woo-hoo.

Marcelle BB Creme Golden Glow. Why, oh why. So many BB creams. This one sucks even more though because it’s too dark for me.

I am NOT a fan of Birchbox including a non-beauty relating product in the last two boxes. Kind of a deal-breaker, Birchbox. I didn’t subscribe to get vitamins and gross health bars. It was an OK box. I feel the boxes are declining again.

April 2014 Birchbox & Ipsy Reviews.

I’m doing pretty good this month it’s still April and I’m posting the April reviews :).

Let’s start with Ipsy this time. Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month you get 4-6 beauty products inside a makeup bag. If you’d like to subscribe to Ipsy, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. It arrives each month in a pink bubble mailer!

This month’s theme was ‘Beauty Rocks’. I’ve decided to stop taking pictures of the theme card, because who really cares ;). But don’t worry I’ll still take a picture of the contents! So here ya go:
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet. This is such an awesome product, I’m so glad I got it in my bag! It glides on really smooth and stay put.

Coastal Scents Medium Shadow Brush. Nice brush, works well. Again, I was pretty happy to see it in my bag.

dr. brandt microdermabrasion. I’m kind of ‘meh’ about face scrubs (etc.) but this one didn’t seem so boring to me. I’m excited to try.

Elizabeth Mott pop! goes the shadow in Champagne. Such a pretty color! It’s very shimmery and well pigmented. Another product I was happy to see in my bag.

Starlooks Luscious Longwear Lip Pencil. I don’t use lip liner. Maybe I should try it? I’ll probably just give it away though. Got to love full-sized products though!

The bag had a music theme and had an old school record player on the front. Cute but not sure it’s something I’d use. This bag was AWESOME. I was really happy with the products. So many different but great items!

Now on to Birchbox.

Birchbox is a beauty subscription box for $10/month. If you’d like to sign up please CLICK HERE to use my referral code and get signed up! This month’s theme was ‘Rainy Days’.

I’m mad at Birchbox this month so you just get the stock photo from my beauty profile.
birchbox april 2014

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. I was actually happy with this product because I’ve never had/used one and on occasion my eyebrows will do something crazy.

Supergoop!® Daily Correct CC Cream. Um, clearly Birchbox isn’t ready my blog. Or they want me to have a mental breakdown ;).

Color Club Gala’s Gems Collection. I got the teal color. It’s pretty but nothing special, been getting a lot of fingernail polishes lately.

KIND Healthy Grain Bars in Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt. What.the.hell. How is this a beauty product? Please tell me. And what kind of flavor is that? I’m from Iowa, we don’t eat that shit. Ew.

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel Exfoliant. Another face cleanser. I can hardly contain my excitement.

This box just plain sucked. Really what did it for me was the Kind snack bar. Seriously, I signed up for BEAUTY products not gross snack bars. C’mon Birchbox, get it together!

March 2014 BIrchbox & Ipsy Review.

Oh my gosh guys, I really suck at this! I know it’s April and I’m just now posting my March review. Oh well. Well here ya go.

This month’s theme was ‘Destination Beauty’. I don’t have a picture of the theme card and I’m too lazy to go take one. But you don’t really care anyways do you? You’re after the goodies. So here ya go:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready. A perfect mauvy-pink perfect for anytime really. Love that it wasn’t a bright pink or red. Sad that it was sample sized (but so cute).

NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow. Nice neutral three shade pallet. This should get some use.

Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner. This stuff applies nicely and stays on forever. Too bad it’s blue so I won’t use it. Hopefully I can find someone who will use it! (Ahem, send me black eyeliner only Ipsy!)

Pixi Beauty Flawless Primer. Y’all know how I feel about primers/bb creams. No thanks! Straight to the giveaway pile.

I didn’t care for the design of the bag this month. It is a designed from a piece of artwork. Abstract art isn’t my thing.

Now on to Birchbox.

Birchbox is a beauty subscription box for $10/month. If you’d like to sign up please CLICK HERE to use my referral code and get signed up! This month’s theme was ‘Spring Forward’.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

As always the content card with prices:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So here’s what I got:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Air Repair Rescue Balm All-Purpose Skin Salve and Lip Balm. Thicker, vaseline-like balm. Seems to work nicely.

Previse Hydromilk. Haven’t tried it. It says you’re just supposed to slather it on.

Keims Cleanshine Energizing Shampoo. I’d rather not get shampoo in these boxes but that’s OK, I’ll give it a try. Too bad it didn’t come with the matching condition, I like to use them in as a set.

stila lip glaze in Raspberry Sorbet. Really pretty pink color, perfect for Springtime. The packaging remind me a syringe, maybe that’s the nurse in me? Haha.

Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream. Seriously guys, I’m one primer/bb cream away from a mental break! I have so many and I’m sick of them.

Overall both beauty boxes this month were just OK. They weren’t great but they weren’t bad. They had really neat items (bareMinerals lipstick, stila gloss), some OK products, and some meh products (Pixi primer, Jergens bb cream). As usual I can’t wait for next (er well this) month’s boxes.

February 2014 Birchbox & Ipsy Reviews.

I’m a little behind posting my monthly review for my subscription boxes, so I will being doing both in one post. I apologize if there are a lot of errors or I don’t make sense, I got stuck at work after working second shift last night because of the blizzard. I’m working with about 4 hours of sleep. On a side note, I got a notification from WordPress that I signed up 4 years ago. I was never able to stick with it or blog consistently before but on this blog I have been updating it regularly for about 9 months! Baby steps…

Anyways, let’s get to the reviews!

Birchbox is a beauty subscription box for $10/month. If you’d like to sign up please CLICK HERE to use my referral code and get signed up! This month’s theme was ‘Step & Repeat’. Also, this month Birchbox collaborated with US Weekly for this month’s theme and products.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This month I received some pretty great products, check them out.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is the card that shows the brands, names, and  (full-sized) prices of the items I received.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Agave Healing Oil Treatment.  To be honest, I’m over the whole hair oil fad. I have like 10 bottles.I haven’t tried this, but I am interested that since it is called a ‘treatment’ that it will be more conditioning than regular hair oil. A little cardboard sample, which is a little disappointing because you can easily get these free.

Benefit Fakeup. I was pretty excited to see this in my box! I have been wanting to try this product for awhile. It works well and is a pretty decent sample size!

Dr. Brandt Pores No More. Again I was excited to see this! I haven’t used it yet to say if it works, but I’ve heard good things. My t-zone gets a little oily sometimes so it will be great to have this to use on those days. It’s a good sized sample so I think it’ll last me a long time since I won’t need to use it daily.

OPI Sheer Tints in I Can Teal You Like Me. I was kind of shocked to see OPI in my box! It says you can wear it alone for a subtle tint so I put some on one of my nails and it left a see through blue-ish color – reminded me of someone who has a 70% 02 level (maybe it’s just a nurse thing). I think it would look much nicer over a color though! It’s supposed to add a ‘chic shade-shifting effect’.

Benefit Cosmetics Big Easy. You can’t even call this a foil packet, it’s one of those card you rip out of a magazine. You know that barely had enough product for half your face. Totally disappointed in this. I don’t see how these can be considered one of our items. I know it was the beauty extra so it doesn’t count towards the value of the box but still, it’s a bit ridiculous. However, from what I could tell I think this would be a good product!

I have a love-hate relationship with this box. Overall I love the box and the products. But I hate that they brought back tiny samples. I do however think I am getting closer to having my beauty profile setup exactly how I want it! I’m loving the Fakeup, OPI polish, and the Pores No More! I am happy with my box compared to a lot of boxes I have seen, but man I was feeling a bit jealous when I saw some people got that Coastal Scents eye shadow palette :).

Now for my Ipsy bag review.

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month you get 5-6 beauty products inside a makeup bag. If you’d like to subscribe to Ipsy, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. It arrives each month in a pink bubble mailer!

This month’s theme was ‘The Look of Love’. And I’m definitely getting a Valentine/Love vibe from these products and bag!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s what I received this month:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

POP Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Peony Petal. Nice deep pinkish color. This is a lip gloss but also has the qualities of a stain, so it’s more of a liquid lipstick. It has a much more opaque color than a ‘normal’ lip gloss. Stays on nicely and has a cute bottle.

City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon. I was excited for a matte blush, because most all of the ones I own are shimmery. I haven’t opened it yet/worn it, because I think the color might not be right for me. It’s a very bright coral, not bad but I’m used to wearing more of a rose color. We’ll see, maybe I’ll try it!

Zoya Nail Polish in Dot. Pretty, pastel pink polish. Perfect for Easter or using with a french manicure. Or just using it for allover nail color, it’s pretty :).

Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base in One in Ambrosia. I didn’t know if I’d like this since I’m usually not a fan of cream eye shadows. But this one really surprised me! It goes on as a cream and dries to a powder, it is easy to apply and blend. It seems to stay put pretty well and I really liked the color.

IPKN New York BB Cream in 02 Light. As with hair oil, I’m over the hole A/B/C/D cream. I feel like they all have an orangey tint to them (at least the ‘light’ shades). I feel like this once was just like any BB cream. It blends OK and covers minor blemishes. It does seem to do an OK job of moisturizing the skin, as that was one of the claims.Again I was really happy with this box. I’m getting a little sick of all the constant reds and pinks, but the shades this month for the most part were OK. It would be great if there were no BB creams next month 😉 hint hint. I don’t really know what products I hoping for next month, just a good surprise!

Ipsy January 2014 Review.

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month you get 5-6 beauty products inside a makeup bag. If you’d like to subscribe to Ipsy, I’d appreciate you using my referral link. It arrives each month in a pink bubble mailer!

This month’s theme was ’19 Reason’. I’m not sure why they chose ’19’ reason to make it an amazing new year, but the products were pretty good!

This month I received:
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Contents:
Benefit the POREfessional. Great product! Make yours smooth very smooth and even toned. Hides blemishes and pores. Perfect for under foundation. I was hoping I would get this in my bag! A bigger sample size would’ve been nice ;).

(MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm. I wasn’t excited at first about getting this in my bag, but I love it! It has a nice mild scent and a nice thicker consistency. I don’t like how it comes out though, it should have an angled application tip rather than just a hole (like a lotion or something). It worked well and kept my lips hydrated.

Balanced Guru Balm Me Up Organic Sweet Cocoa & Tangy Body Balm. Interesting smell, I think I like it. Haha. I don’t like the ‘balm’ texture, I would rather have a cream/lotion. It seems to help with dry skin though, but it’s a little on the greasy side.

Absolute! Makeup Cleansing Tissue. Not the best smell. But removed my makeup fine, but I wouldn’t say any better than the store brand I use now.

yaby Liquid Foundation in Buff. I’m not a fan of receiving foundation in a subscription box. This seems like it will make my skin color good enough so that’s a plus. I haven’t used it yet to tell you how blend-able it is or how good the coverage is.

This month’s bag had silhouettes of makeup and travel containers which makes it cute for traveling. But it’s not my favorite bag by far. Overall I was really happy with my Ipsy bag this month. I’m glad to see totally new brands and no Be a Bombshell! Because I think the point is to try all sorts of different brands not the same one over and over! Can’t wait to see what next month’s bag will contain.

January 2014 Birchbox Review.

Birchbox is a beauty subscription box for $10/month. If you’d like to sign up please CLICK HERE to use my referral code and get signed up! This month’s theme was ‘Go Time’.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHere are the contents of the box with the prices for full-sized items.

Now let’s get to the good stuff, shall we? Here’s what I got this month:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion with Clary Sage. This is a nice lotion that came in a cute little tin. The smell was a little off but not bad. Seems to work well.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle. Oh how I love this brand. It smells SO good. It’s works nicely also. I was very excited to see this in my box.

Juicy Couture – Viva La Juicy. Nice smell. This perfume has become very popular and almost a ‘classic’. I was happy to try it, but hate getting perfume samples.

INIKA Mineral Eyeshadow in eternal marine. A nice shimmery blue-ish color. Looks good alone or as an accent color in the outer corner. Very pigmented and stays on nicely.

Nail Rock in Sequin Green. I have not tried this as I will probably give it as a gift. Looks cute and this type of nail art is pretty popular right now. Green sequins wouldn’t be my choice of nail art though.

They also included a set of card with inspirational things and such on them. Overall I was very happy with this months Birchbox. I haven’t been able to say that in a long time. They really stepped it up this month and inclosed nice products and nice sample sizes. Hopefully they keep up the good work!

What was in your box this month?
